weigh in report!!!

Warning: when you try to lose weight and your gaining...... see your doctor, there is a reason!

I was so depressed I was doing everything right, limited calorie, got more active, drank my water, AND put on weight!
Had some blood work done last Tuesday and Friday the doctors office called to tell me to get on a new medicine asap. picked up the medicine, Levothyroxin (throid hormone). Friday I weight 275 pounds, normal TSH is 0.35 to 5.50, mine was at 19.52! been on it for six days and this morning weight is 265. I'm not close to were I was but now I know why.

good luck to all of you, keep at the water and exercise even if its just a little, just make sure you do a little more each day.

Take care love goes out to you.

weigh in

Hi gals!  I bought a scale yesterday and weighed myself today for the first time since before my Mom died... and I can report to you all that I weigh 246.2 lbs. as of this morning.  I know for sure that's down from before the scale I had quit working, I was working to get down to 250 then (from around 257 or somewhere in there) so I'm making progress!  Now that I have a new scale I can keep closer tabs on what's going on with me weight-wise.  My mom's death at the too-young age of only 59 was a stark slap in the face for me to get my act together and drop a good chunk of this weight NOW for my health.  That's all it's ever been for me - I need to lose to be healthier, and I know I'll look better and feel better overall, too.  With my family history of diabetes, I have a lot riding on this!  My mom's mom died at the age of 69, then mom at the age of 59... I'm going on 39 and definitely want more than another decade on this planet!!!  :)  My great-grandmother (Mom's grandma) was 96 when she died, and I'm convinced my grandmother and my mother could have lived many more years if they had been more diligent in watching and controlling their weight.  I am determined not to walk down the same path!

Okay, that's my update.  How is everyone else doing???

hey girls!

It's great to hear from you!!  I have been so out of the loop lately - my computer caught a virus and we took it in to get it cleaned, that took a week, then when I got it back it had a whole new operating system on it!  Arrrgh!  So, on top of dealing with everything that's been going on with cleaning out my dearly departed mother's house and keeping track of all things necessary with that, plus the usual day to day chaos that defines my life, I've pretty much lost "me" in all of it!  My scale died a few months ago, so I have absolutely no clue what my weight is right now... it's on my list of things to buy next time I have an extra $20 though, so I should be getting a new one soon.  I've been watching what I put in my mouth, and have to say I don't feel tremendously different, so I don't think I'm getting any bigger.  Lately I've been battling an extremely irritating cough that won't let up.  I think we've diagnosed it as bronchitis, so that's how I'm treating it for now... :)

I have been getting out a bit more often, since my brother moved into my Mom's house that she was going to move into.  He also kept the biggest of Mom's 3 dogs, so now that he's here in town I've been going over and taking the dog for a walk every so often (when I'm home to do it & it needs to be done... LOL)  Last week on Thursday & Friday I walked the dog then walked up to the elementary school & walked the kids home, so that's more movement... I need to cook up some more rice.  I have this kind I really like, it's got all kinds of whole-grain and yummy rice in it, some kind of gourmet blend.  It's a tad pricey, but I figure since I'm the only one that eats it I'm worth it!  LOL  I usually just put a little sesame oil on it with some salt & pepper.  It's really yummy in beans, too.  I've been learning to cook different foods (like beans, I cooked beans for the first time EVER a couple weeks ago!  LOL) so that I can avoid the canned variety (thus trimming down my sodium intake).

Okay, anyhow, I think I've rambled on enough.  Need to get to bed (not that I'll get much rest with this crummy cough) so I can get the kids up & out of here in the morning.  My goal for tomorrow is to locate my desk and bring some semblance of order to my bedroom.  Wish me luck!!!  :)

Sending you all much love, many hugs, and lots of prayers!!!

THANK YOU, glad to hear from you.

Thanks Tammy for your support, I know they say" you have to do this on your own" but even on the show "the biggest loser" they have partners and team members helping them out. I NEED YOU!

I know all the information about eating the right foods and exercise but your right, with all the things going on, we forget to take care of ourselves! We can let each other know WE CARE.

I'm back on the water and no more snacking at night, ( it was so easy to fall into my old habits)

The last few months I just got lazy, I let Lou wait on me hand and foot, (literally) so my goal is to do as much for myself as possible, every movement is actually exercise, boy do I need it!

I was using the fact that Sarah Jo is slowing down (she had a defib/pacemaker) put in last month and is suppose to take it easy. So we went out to eat ALOT. Yes I'm the one that put all the weight on.

Thanks for sticking with me,

Startin' new ...............
